Let's Talk About The Bill Cunningham Show

It has taken me about two months or so to write my first post. The reason being because I did not know what to write about but today an idea hit me. No, not literally but it did hit me mentally.

As I was watching The Bill Cunningham show I started to think about the lack of control he had over his guests. The odd part is that I never see any security so I guess it doesn't get too bad but it does get to the point where they get into each other's faces, on the brink of fighting. I know if I was a talk show host trying to be a mediator I would want the guests to talk it out but listen to me as well.

I do like the fact that the audience has an input although the guests rarely listen to them long enough to get what they are actually saying. And the guest speakers that also try to help the are just wonderful.

I can see that the point of the show is to help people get through their problems with friends and family. The thing that I don't like is the fact that sometimes it reminds too much of The Jerry Springer Show and Maury. Sad but true. I'm not saying that I dislike those shows, because at times they can be pretty interesting when I'm bored out of my mind BUT (yes I like saying but) at least the guests on those two shows actually listen to the hosts.

Another thing I thought about while watching the show is, If no one listens to Bill, What is the point of the show? and Why is he there? If you and your family had certain issues not only with each other but your own personal issues would you go on this show for help? I know what he's trying to do and it seems to help SOMETIMES. The segments without the drama are the best ones so I don't hate the show. Call it, trying to figure out why a person would go to this show instead of Anderson or Dr. Drew's Lifechangers.

As always, IT'S JUST A THOUGHT
